Highland is blessed to have wonderful and loving teachers serving our children’s Life Groups. Many bring years of experience to the classes each week. We are grouped by ages (according to the child’s age as of September 1 of the new School year). Our group leaders are dedicated to creating a pleasant and enriching experience for the children.

AWANA – Wednesday 5:30-7:15 @Family Life Center
A FREE meal is provided to children and workers at 5:30pm.
What is Awana?
Awana Clubs are an exciting opportunity for our children to benefit spiritually, mentally, physically and emotionally from each weekly meeting. Our Awana clubs offers a positive, loving atmosphere. Through Awana, our children can develop their social skills such as sharing, listening and relating to others. Through achievement and awards, our children will gain a sense of accomplishment that leads to future successes in all areas of life. The heart of Awana is its biblical stand that stresses the preeminence of the Word of God. The great Scripture verses on salvation and Christian growth are the core of all the Awana achievements.
The word AWANA is an acronym that stands for “Approved Workman Are Not Ashamed.” Each Wednesday from 5:45-7:15pm, kids in 2yrs-5th grade will transition through 3 different stations. At Handbook Time they will recite different verses to complete the sections in their handbook at their own pace. Council Time is a large group time where kids sing songs, see an object lesson, and awards are given out. And lastly, in Game Time kids are able to play a variety of games as a team.
We hope you will join us Wednesdays for AWANA’s!
